Our goal at Paradise Ranch is to continue raising top quality cattle that will compliment anyone's breeding program.
My father, Harry Good, was a true cattleman. With his vision, he and I established a successful breeding program that Paradise Ranch continues to use today.
We use low birth weight bulls for ease of calving, as well as maintaining high performance for the growth that will yeild favorable results at sale time.
We cross our Red Angus and Charolais bulls; red on tan cows and white on red cows. This gives us a great cross and premium price for our steer calves off of the cows. Our cattle have strong sound hooves and udders ensuring the longevity of our cow herd.

About Paradise Ranch Ltd.
Paradise Ranch was established in 1964, when my family moved to Paradise Valley, south of Seven Persons Alberta.
The ranch consists of approximately 13,000 acres, 320 acres of irrigation to supply feed for the cattle. We also have Border Collies for working the cattle, with the prospect of raising well-bred pups in the near future.
Our Cow Herd
At Paradise Ranch we use the strongest genetics we can find to get the highest performance without creating a large work load at calving. Our cow herd calve-out in a pasture 5 miles from home, so we cannot afford to have calving issues. In the 2012 breeding season we bred 65 heifer's to Freddes Big Sly R9 and Red Northern Fat Tony; two outstanding Red Angus bulls that continue to strengthen our females.
"As you drive you see the paradise ranch sign and you know your onto something special. Heading down the paradise ranch road you follow the creek along the rolling hills and majestic valley the feeling is truly surreal.
The history of the land takes you back in time when the paradise ranch was first discovered by the "Good" family.
Working with the Good family has been a true privilege and honour over the years, the Goods are exactly what you would expect. "down to earth and very grounded people" not only in the ranch but in the cattle.
Over many years of breeding for high maternal females with tremendous milk flow that can travel the hills and come home in the fall with that high performance calves a lot of homework has been done."

"Paradise Ranch runs 500 Red Angus faced cows that are as good as you’ll ever find.
The ranch is owned and operated by Ian Good along with his wife Deb. Ian’s dad, Harry, has been gone since 2010, but the ranch and the cows are his legacy. His standards were high. The cows had to perform and there were never any excuses. He bought outstanding Red Angus and Charolais bulls from the top breeders in western Canada. Steve Primrose of Primrose Livestock has bought the yearling steers site unseen for many years. My name is Bob Herman, and I have been fortunate enough to provide the veterinary services to Paradise Ranch for the last 16 years."
